Jaime De Luna-Padron was killed early Friday morning, the first APD officer shot and killed on-duty since 1978.
Law enforcement officers from Central Texas and across the state are expected to converge in Austin tomorrow for funeral services for Austin PD Officer Jaime De Luna-Padron, slain early Friday morning at a North Austin Wal-Mart.
Services for Padron, the first APD officer shot and killed on-duty since 1978, will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, April 11, at 11am at Shoreline Church, 15201 Burnet Road.
A procession will then leave the church, heading North on Burnet to the Hwy 45 frontage road. The procession will move East to I-35, South along I-35 past APD headquarters, and continue South to the I-35/Ben White flyover, where it will move West to Hwy 290 and continue to State Hwy 71, where it will continue West toward San Angelo.
Motorists should expect delays along the procession route and are being asked to pull to the side of the road to allow the procession to pass.
Once in San Angelo, a rosary will be held Thursday night, April 12, at 6pm at the Johnson Funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in San Angelo with the internment immediately following the service.
