TCSOA petitioned the Sheriff and asked that JST times completed for other assigments such as BPOC, HVU and Patrol be accepted as the officers time for the year.  The Sheriff agreed.  Prior to his ruling, officers were mandated to go through JST in their primary assignment in addition to completing JST for other areas they were seeking assignment to.  The ruling will assist supervisors with scheduling and officers who are seeking other assignments.  Officers will still have to complete JST when seeking certain positions however, they will not have to complete JST for their primary assignment once they have been timed for a special assignment.
