Police Officer Dies in Ohio; Suspect Hurt
Updated On: Mar 28, 2011

Help support Wisconsin by keeping the pressure on Governor Walker.  In doing so, you will also keep the pressure on the State of Ohio.  This is the second police officer killed in the line of duty in Wisconsin and Ohio in the past two days.  If you have not done so already, go to the Action Center and complete the petition supporting the public service employees and unions.

AP,SANDUSKY, Ohio-- Authorities in northern Ohio say a police officer died after a gun battle with a suspect, who was seriously wounded.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office says Sandusky police Officer Andrew Dunn died after the shooting early Saturday.

The sheriff's office says 50-year-old Kevin Randleman was riding a bicycle when Dunn stopped him. Authorities did not immediately explain why Dunn stopped Randleman or what prompted the shootings.

Authorities say Dunn was shot multiple times and died at a nearby hospital. Randleman was flown to a Toledo medical center for treatment. Officials did not know if he had an attorney.

Officials say the 30-year-old Dunn had been with the Sandusky police for about three years and was married with two young children.

No charges have been filed. The sheriff's office is investigating.
