Rep. Giovanni Capriglione District 98 (Tarrant County) has filed a bill relating to the confidentiality of information held by a public retirement system.  If passed, information about our retirement pension plan and personal information will be a matter of public record.   The bill also takes away the retirement systems authority to decide what information to release.

This is a bill we expected given the current climate and the amount of attacks on pensions from across the county.  CLEAT posted an article, and it is also posted on this site, in regards to the State Comptroller calling for more transparency of our retirement accounts.

We will fight this bill also however, we need your help.  Contact your State Rep and let them know you are not in favor of this bill.  On the home page go to "Contact Congress" and send a strong message that we are opposed to this bill.  Don't take this lightly, this could be the first step in an attempt reorganize our retirement accounts like other States.
