Precinct 1 Accomplishments

 

  • Developed and implemented a new website to provide an informational resource for the community relative to Precinct 1 functions and activities.

 

  • Adopted Sims Elementary School and participated in activities with the students.

 

  • Conducted an Open House and Safety Fair to introduce the community to Precinct 1 Constable and staff and to enhance awareness of safety issues.

 

  • Participated in neighborhood National Night Out activities to enhance community relations while providing safety information.

 

  • Increased participation in community events and neighborhood association meetings to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the community.

 

  • Implemented more effective internal processes and procedures to enhance professionalism and customer service within the Precinct 1 office.

 

  • Increased communication with the Commissioner’s Court and other county offices and staff to enhance and maintain effective working relationships.

 

  • Improved the overall appearance and maintenance of the Precinct 1 buildings and grounds to project a more inviting and professional image.

 

  • Obtained additional resources for Precinct 1 to enhance internal operations, better serve the community, and improve staff morale including:

 

  • Additional deputies
  • New vehicles
  • New uniforms for staff
  • New computers and office equipment (leather gear, blackberries, etc.)
  • Better reporting resources (crystal reports)

 

  • Southwest Keys

 

  • Actively involved with Precinct 1 neighborhood schools.

 

Actively working with neighborhood schools to reduce truancy.
